Darcie Helm leads our children’s ministries and ensures that all nursery workers and children’s teachers have background checks, and many have recently completed First Aid training.
We keep our children’s classes small enough for teachers to truly get to know each child individual, and they take a genuine interest in each child’s spiritual growth. In an effort to help children grow in both grace and knowledge, we use a variety of materials, most of which are from the following publishers:
Classes for the following age groups are currently being offered on Sunday mornings, on the Lower Level of our facility, starting at 9:30:
We enthusiastically welcome older teens to participate in our various Men’s and Women’s classes during that time.
Children in K-5 and under are welcome to remain in the same classroom for the worship service, when they will be led in a children’s church service. Parents should plan to pick up their children after the service comes to a close. (Of course, if parents prefer to keep their children in the main Worship Service, they are welcome to do so.)
Children in grades 1-3 are invited to join us in the Worship Center, which is on the Main Level of our building, as we begin the main Worship Service; they will be dismissed before the sermon to attend a children’s church service suited to their age; children’s church leaders for this age rotate, usually on a monthly basis, and are selected by Pastor Brian Helm.
On Sunday evenings, children are welcome to join the rest of the congregation in the Worship Center. Nursery is provided for infants and toddlers.
On Wednesday evenings, we offer classes for the following age groups:
During the summer months, the teachers take a hiatus while we combine all the children to learn Bible doctrine from the well-made video series entitled “What’s in the Bible?“
Those in middle school and high school are included in Gardiner Hall along with adults for a time of Bible study and prayer.
In addition to our weekly classes for children, we have several events for all members of the family [insert/embed link to “Ministries–Families” page] as well as a few designed especially with children in mind. Annual children’s events include a community-wide VBS in June or July as well as a Fall Festival on the last Saturday in October. Be sure to check our current calendar for upcoming events!
