Men’s Ministries

Our men’s ministries combine a wide age range of men, including those in their later teens as well as their latter years. This allows for and promotes an atmosphere of deference as well as encouragement, following the Titus 2 model we see in Scripture.

Sunday Morning Classes

Seven Arrows Bible Study Method

From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Sundays, we offer a regular class available to teenage and adult men, taught by Matt Pepper. This discussion-oriented class for men only is typically working through a book of the Bible using the “Seven Arrows” Bible study method described in this post. Matt has a strong heart of mentorship for men as well as a passion for applying God’s Word to everyday life. This class meets in the Cafe, in the basement level.

Study of Mark

Another Sunday morning class open to men is a larger class of both men and women, usually taught by Jeff Kightlinger. This class is currently working through the book of Mark. Jeff presents well-studied lessons that help the men and women in his class unpack the biblical truths found in the different books that they study. This class meets in the Fellowship Hall, which is on the Lower Level of the building; it is often referred to as “Gardiner Hall.”

Foundations and Membership

Men who regularly attend GHBC are welcome to ask the elders about the following short-term classes: Foundations and Membership. The Foundations class is a 12-week discipleship class offers an overview of basic teachings of Scripture and is typically taught by Pastor Jonathan. The Membership class is a 2-week course usually taught by Pastor Mark and is designed for those who want to know what it means to be a member of GHBC.

Sundays and Wednesdays

In addition to these weekly classes, all men are encouraged to join us for our corporate Worship Service on Sunday mornings as well as for our Wednesday evening service and other regular gatherings. On Wednesday evenings, following the Bible study, we typically break up into small groups for a time of prayer; typically, this includes men across a wide range of ages sharing their hearts and praying together.

Men’s Breakfast

On a monthly basis, men are invited to meet at the church for a continental breakfast, followed by a brief devotional and time of discussion and prayer. Pastor Mark Warnshuis heads up this Men’s Network ministry, which meets on the third Saturday of the month, most months.
