Sunday Morning Classes

Each Sunday morning, from 9:30 to 10:30, women are invited to choose from three classes, two of which are designed for women only, ranging in age from their teens and twenties to their twilight years. By integrating a diverse range of ages, women are encouraged to form relationships in keeping with the principle of Titus 2:3-5.

Faces of Friendship: Growing Relationships God’s Way

One of our women’s classes is taught by Darcie Helm. It meets in the Library, which is located on the Lower Level. She is currently working through the book “Faces of Friendship: Growing Relationships God’s Way” by Debi Pryde. The discussion has been rich, as these ladies explore this important, ever-relevant topic.

Study of Hebrews

A second women’s class is taught by Vivian DeWitt and meets in a room adjacent to the Worship Center, on the Main Level of the building. Vivian has been an avid student of the Scripture for decades and studies diligently for her class. This small group of women is currently studying the book of Hebrews. Vivian is using the book “A Faith that Endures” by J. Dwight Pentecost as a guide for this study.

Study of Paul’s Epistles

A third Sunday morning class available for women is a combined class that meets in Gardiner Hall, the main room on the Lower Level of the building. This class for men and women is taught by Jeff Kightlinger and is currently studying Paul’s epistles. Jeff studies Scripture diligently and is dedicated to expository teaching that brings out the teachings of these key books in the context in which God gave them to Paul.

Summer Book Study

During the summer months, Tammy Wagner leads a book study geared especially toward teen and young adult women. This past summer, they studied the book “Lies Young Women Believe and the Truth that Sets Them Free,” co-authored by Nancy DeMoss Welgomuth and Dannah Gresh.

Foundations and Membership

Any woman who regularly attends GHBC is invited to ask about one of our short-term classes, as well: Foundations and Membership. One of the two rotating classes, Foundations is taught by Pastor Jonathan. This 12-week discipleship class offers an overview of basic Bible doctrine, or teaching. The Membership is a 2-week course taught by Pastor Mark and is designed for those who want to know what it means to be a member of GHBC.

Sunday Morning Worship and Wednesday Evenings

Besides these weekly women-specific classes, women are welcome to join in weekly Worship Service starting Sunday mornings at 10:45 as well as Wednesday evenings, when they will be able to participate in a discussion-oriented topical study. Following the study, women have the opportunity to share their burdens with other women and pray together in a small group.

Women’s Activities

The women of our church typically gather a few times a year for activities. In recent years, such activities have included a “Paint and Sip” and meeting at Coffee in the Park. To find out if we have any upcoming women’s activities, take a look at our calendar. [link]
